Spa Party Mint Orange Blossom Iced Tea

This Mint Orange Blossom Iced Tea recipe is a terrific caffeine-free recipe to serve at your Spa Parties, Receptions and Celebration Showers.  It was created by Juliana Gauss of Colorado, who submitted it to Taste of Home, where it was thumbs-up approved by their Test  Kitchen — and ours.  While it does call for a cup of refined sugar, this is 1 cup per 20 cups of water, making for a lower calorie iced tea.  You’re welcome to substitute your own favorite alternative sweetener — we tried Zero Calorie Swerve with GREAT success, bringing the calories down to almost nothing.

A perfect, light refreshing iced tea (with no caffeine) with mint, oranges, and orange flower water.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 20 cups water
  • 1 bunch Fresh mint leaves - about 1 cup
  • 1 cup sugar - or use Swerve or Splenda
  • 1 large navel orange
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons orange blossom water
  • Optional Orange Slices and Mint Leaves - for garnish

Instructions

  • Place water and mint in a 6-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on high until heated through, about 6 hours. Strain tea; discard mint.
  • Whisk in sugar or sweetener until dissolved. Cut orange crosswise in half; squeeze juice from orange. Stir in juice and orange blossom water. Transfer to a pitcher.
  • Refrigerate until cold, 4-6 hours. Serve over ice with orange slices and additional mint, if desired.

Spa Index Kitchen Notes

Orange blossom water, also called orange flower water, can be found at most specialty grocery stores or spice shops. If you use orange extract instead of orange blossom (decrease the amount to 1-2 teaspoons, rather than the larger tablespoons for orange flower water), it will add a hint of orange flavor, while blossom water adds a unique floral note.
