Incredible views. Great food and exceptional service. Here for business, and did not get to utilize their extensive recreation options, but they look amazing as well.

Loved It
Month / Year of Your Visit?: Christmas 2020

My family has had several dining-only experiences at Rough Creek and each time has been amazing. The service is always excellent and the food is fantastic! The chef really puts his heart into the menu, quality of ingredients and the preparation. We also stayed at the lodge around Christmas as part of a package - and the room was great! It was a large room, bunk beds for the kids and the bathroom was incredible. Ranch amenities were fun and plenty to choose from. We highly recommend the restaurant and the lodge and the spa. We cannot wait to return.

A Shift in Service to Sales?
Month / Year of Your Visit?: 2020

Pros: I would first say that for the most part the staff is great. Very friendly and genuinely happy to make your stay pleasurable. The spa massage therapist was absolutely fantastic and could have her own practice closer to the DFW metroplex.

Cons: We had a few issues which I did not expect for the cost. There are some maintenance issues that were left unattended, the fishing dock was out of almost everything, the boats were said not to work. The pool was dirty and needed cleaning. We stayed 2 days and this was a problem on both days. Our stay cost @ $2500 USD for just two days.

The Service Shift: I feel the property used to be much more worth the cost but has turned into something different. There is more focus on selling the homesites and construction of those homes than the one time guest. I brought all of these and more concerns to management but basically it was all dismissed and blamed on busy-ness. This is not accurate especially from the employees point of view. Definitely not with the premium cost.
