Always an exceptional experience! Perfect place for a stay cation or a night away. Love the service and the food. Always 2 thumbs up and 5 stars. Love that the hotel is pet friendly, always creates a feeling of home.
Nice setting. Good food. Great service. Not as clean as it should be. Many services and amenities not available, but what's still there is the FULL RESORT FEE, covering the missing amenities, which isn't fair.
Our stay at the Algonquin was very disappointing. We expected higher cleanliness standards from Marriott, especially during Covid. The room was not clean, it had dust & hair in the bathroom. The bed sheets were dirty. We had to ask 3 times to front desk & housekeeping to come & make the bed with clean sheet. The 3rd time, we pulled the sheet off the bed & the mattress cover had patches of hair (Disgusting!). I realize now why it’s not cleaned, it took 2 staff members to unzip the mattress cover, so they are probably not cleaning any mattress cover because you can't easily handle it unassisted. Plus the staff were not surprised or apologetic for the hair, they actually seemed indifferent. Algonquin is expensive for our budget plus they charge resort fees, we expected the room and bed to be clean. The breakfast was delicious. We love St Andrews, unfortunately we will never return to the Algonquin. There are other better accommodations. Plus we will never recommend this hotel.
