This basic tomato sauce is one of our most requested recipes, used as the basis for so many delicious recipes.
Ingredients

onion

no-salt-added tomato paste

ground black pepper

mushrooms
, sliced thin

fresh oregano

Italian plum tomatoes

Instructions
Combine all tomato sauce ingredients in a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, and simmer about 20 minutes.
Serve with desired entree or use in other recipes.
