Instructions
Prepare Your Pots
Select a lip gloss pot, readily available from container stores, or, from used makeup or cosmetics.
Insure the container is sterile by boiling it in hot water. This will help prevent contamination of your finished product, which could lead to spoilage.
Cranberry Balm Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for a couple of minutes or until the mixture just begins to boil. (Bowl may also be heated in a pan of water on a stovetop).
Stir well and gently crush the berries.
Cool mixture for five minutes and then strain through a fine sieve to remove all the fruit pieces.
Stir again and set aside to cool completely.
When cool, transfer into a small portable plastic container or tin.
Honey Citrus Balm Instructions
Melt the sweet almond oil and beeswax together in a microwave safe container for 1-2 minutes.
Remove the mixture from the microwave, and pierce the Vitamin E capsule with pin or tip of a knife, and squirt in the mixture.
Whisk the contents, honey, and flavoring, into the oil mixture, and whisk until set.
When cool, transfer into a small portable plastic container or tin.
Lemon Honey Lip Gloss Instructions
Melt beeswax, remove from heat and while constantly stirring, add honey, aloe, almond extract and Vitamin E.
Add the Lemon Essential Oil last. Whisk until set.
When set and cool, transfer into a small portable plastic container or tin.
Spa Index Kitchen Notes
Before you buy a large bottle of Vita E or similar oils from the cosmetics department, try the health aisle and look for Vita E capsules. Compare prices. You'll find a pin pushed through a softgel capsule will let you squeeze just enough drops into many Spa DIY recipes. -- SpaIndexWe purchase tiny beeswax chips in the bulk herb aisle of our local health food store. You can also buy a good quality beeswax candle with NO additives and grate it into chips. -- SpaIndex
