Nantucket  Island is 30 miles south of Cape Cod (see map, above). Nantucket is a famed tourist destination and popular summer colony, and the entire island was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966 -- the island features both the highest concentration of pre-Civil War structures and the oldest operating windmill in the US.

This independently run resort was purchased by the Currie family in 1958.
