Serene-Scape Spa was terrific! The owner and staff are superlative and catered to my every need, even needs I didn’t know I had. After I arrived, I was given a tour of the facility. Serene-Scape is a well-renovated older home decorated in its signature lavender, off-white and gray. The main reception area is airy and simple, with sleek modern furniture. The space is arranged to accommodate the disabled — an elevator on the exterior of the building opens at the parking lot level, situated directly next to the handicapped-reserved parking space and rises to the first floor entrance, which is also accessible to the disabled. A treatment room on the first floor is appointed in order to accommodate the disabled.

On the first floor, you’ll find a fully appointed hair and nail salon with several stations, to accommodate multiple guests. A spa pedicure chair is situated in a lovely window alcove.

The second floor houses a restroom, shower room, and four (4) treatment rooms — each featuring a central bed made up in luxurious linens – silky comforters layers of pillows, and lavender flannel sheets. All are centered around a central lounge area with tasteful wood paneled lockers, leather seating and complimentary beverage service.

The general ambiance is quietly elegant and relaxing. Great attention has been given to detail without fussiness. The lighting in each area is subdued but not dark, carefully selected to assure a relaxed atmosphere. Everything is exceptionally clean, luxurious, well-executed and pleasing to all the senses.

Every aspect of interaction at Serene-Scape Spa is well-thought out. Before my treatments I was given a warmed fluffy robe and slippers, as well as a terry wrap. My first treatment was an hour long facial with Cindy Urbani. Before she started, Cindy gave me an aromatherapy scalp massage and a warm bubbling mud treatment for my back. She then carefully cleansed my skin and placed cool compresses over my eyes before she examined my skin to determine the best course of treatment. She decided the Ultra Moisturizing Facial would be best, combined with extractions and deeper cleansing. She explained what she was doing and why as she went along, but also allowed plenty of quiet time for me to “bliss out.” She seemed to anticipate any concerns I had about my skin and made some suggestions for regular skin care. It was a lovely experience and she is lovely as well.

After my facial, I had a Reflexology Session with Janice Lorraine, a Board Certified Reflexologist. She instantly put me at ease with her warmth and enthusiasm. First, she gave my hands and under eyes a warm paraffin wax treatment. Then, with the soothing Native American flute of Carlos Nakai in the background, I enjoyed well over an hour of foot and leg massage and reflexology. Janice explained what she would be doing and then we were quiet for the remainder of the treatment. Given the fact that I was snoring at one point, I am not able to tell you all that Janice did, but it was divine, and she was a delight!

I then returned downstairs to the hair salon, where Susan Manion washed and styled my hair. She offered a few styling suggestions and created a nice new look for my shoulder length hair. Cindy Urbani touched up my face with a light makeup application and gave me skin care samples from the PHYTOMER line, along with her recommendations written out for my continued skin care.

I left Serene Scape feeling totally pampered and refreshed. Reflecting back on the experience now, after several days have passed, I cannot think of one improvement to suggest. They were sincere, professional and fun, and I would recommend this spa to anyone.”

Additional Details: 2,300 sq. ft with 4 treatment rooms on the second floor; and wheelchair accessible treatment room on the first floor. Facials (9 varieties); Body Treatments, including wraps, massage, and ear coning; Spa Scape Manicures and Pedicures; Reflexology; Spa Package. Signature Package: Any Body Treatment, with a one-hour relaxation and exfoliating massage, which includes a scalp massage with hand and foot self-heating mud therapy. Signature Service: Relaxation Massage and the Gentlemen’s Serene-Marine Facial, which includes deep cleansing and moisturizing to the face and a self-heating mud applied to the spine, hands and feet. An energizing facial mask is applied during a scalp massage to leave him feeling revived and relaxed.
