February 26, 2014

I was one of three Secret Spa Reviewers for the Best of Washington DC Assignment.

I had the tough assignment of letting my brows grow to what I considered an unruly length in order to get the best out of my brow design from Nectar Skin Bar. This was also necessary after a bit of overzealous threading this year.

My brow specialist, Adrian Avila, remarked that was actually a good thing to do prior to any brow consultation because he could better determine the true and natural shape and arch of my brow in order to design the best shape for my face.

When I mentioned that I prefer threading as my hair-removal technique of choice, he didn’t dissuade me, but rather, said it was it was advisable to let your brows grow and be professional shaped, and just use threading as a touch up for rogue hairs and regrowth. ‘Maintain, but don’t shape, with threading.’

Given how wonderful my brows looked after a visit with him, I’m taking his advice.
