Beautiful space where you can feel the warmth of Alentejo while enjoying nature and reconnecting with your roots. I know for a fact the Spa team is amazing and you must get one of their sessions.
Peaceful environment , friendly service. Hotel, including the spa, inside and outside pool are great. Also for families with kids. Impressive architecture, in the middle of vineyards. Kitchen is exceptional and creative -- it deserves its Michelin star.
I'm dismayed at the toll the Covid Pandemic has taken on so many places, including L'AND. There are certain expected shortages due to staffing issues (slower service, certain amenities removed), but that doesn't explain all of the maintenance issues, which I've never seen on previous trips, prior to 2020-2021. Landscaping was overgrown and dying. Electrical issues (we had to use flashlights). While the service we had was very friendly, there were simply not enough servers to handle even breakfast. For the first time, we didn't feel the meal was up to Michelin standards. It appears they were building bigger villas (like timeshares or ownership) for new guests, but this was halted I'm supposing due to Covid. That can't be faulted, but, it's an eyesore.
