Essence
Recovery Center's exclusive and private health retreat serves
no more than 32 guests at a time, and offers private, semi-private
and exclusive accommodations. The private lake is surrounded
by a paved walkway, and is softly lit for quiet, meditative strolls
in the evening. Lakeside, you will find a fabulous Nordic II Nordissage
Hot Tub, and indoors a FAR-Infrared Sauna, both ready to
melt your stress away. There are many interesting things to see
on the property, with hiking trails to connect with
nature and get your blood pumping. Listen to music in the Great
Room with its 30’ native stone fireplace or relax on the expansive decks
with stunning lake and mountain views. Read one of
the books they provide you with as part of their program, or one from the Natural Health Resource Library for those interested in learning even more about natural health and healing.
AMENITIES: Spacious Guest Rooms
with 2 Queen Beds, Private Deck, Private Bathroom with separate vanity
area, Complimentary Essential Oil Hospitality Products and TV/Cable.

The Inn and Gardens
East meets West at ASIA ... a spectacular Arts & Crafts style Inn
offering five sumptuous suites, each with its tastefully
presented theme to suit a variety of tastes. The sun-drenched Tatami
Porch has generous built-in upholstered banquettes and a vista of the
Japanese Strolling Garden, our surrounding woodland...and the Asheville
skyline. The library, furnished with generous leather
armchairs and ideal reading lamps, holds an eclectic range of books and
magazines to read in front of a fireplace. The living room has
a wood-burning fireplace, ample, luxurious, down-filled furnishings, and
an enchanting view of the gardens and the Asheville skyline from the
window seat, spanning the entire width of the room.
Outside, facing south, and
overlooked by the Tatami Porch and the living room’s window seat, our
Japanese Strolling Garden is gloriously sunny, filled with specimen
conifers and grasses. The Terrace, sheltered by a pergola and shaded by a
canopy of venerable oaks, is a natural gathering place for dining and
visiting. The Zen Meditation Garden, adjacent to the Sauna Courtyard
and Couples Massage Suite, is a destination of timeless serenity.
Steal away to one of our hammocks, tucked into the edge of the woodland,
for reverie or a snooze.
The Spa
Our generous cedar-lined Sauna Courtyard offers spaciousness for two, and
complete seclusion. Our state-of-the-art European steam shower
promotes respiratory health and glowing skin and is a pure misty pleasure
to experience. A separate room is set aside for your selection of
wet-body treatments and scrubs. Extend your spa experience in
the privacy of your own suite. Take a peaceful plunge in your
double-whirlpool tub. Amenities include ample bathrobes and spa slippers.
We draw from a community of licensed professional massage therapists and
body workers who maintain independent practices in Asheville...and they
come to you, right here at ASIA. They have a wealth of experience in a
wide variety of traditions and modalities, as reflected in ASIA’s

The Spa
In the intimate six room spa, guests are
nurtured with a full-sensory experience -- aromatherapy, soothing music,
and candlelit treatments including our signature treatment, the
Aromatic Hot Towel Massage, which combines a deep massage with
steaming towels steeped in aromatic herbs and spices.
Treatments include revitalizing facials incorporating natural ingredients
such as pomegranate, wasabi, red wine, various exfoliating & detoxifying
body treatments, and a full menu of stress relieving massages. We also
have a range of fitness classes including yoga, boot camp workouts, and
