Jiuhua Spa Resort is located in the Changping District in the north of Beijing, next to the Six Ring Road, a one hour drive from the downtown Beijing. The area in which Jiuhua Spa & Resort is located was once a lake during the Cretaceous period, but due to great movements of the earth's crust, the lake was buried underground.
The extrusion between the plants created high temperature and pressure and under this surrounding, the lake became a hot spring as time passed by. The water of Jiuhua hot spring is clean and limpid, and although its color is slight yellow, it is totally different from those turbid and strong sulfur-smell hot springs. It has gained fame as "A Basin of Golden Water" since ancient times.
Jiuhua Spa Resort has many recreational facilities including a bowling alley, squash courts, ten badminton courts, exercise rooms for various types of ball games, chess rooms, games arcade, cinemas, nightclubs, and more.
