How many sponsors appear in each newsletter?
Our informal policy is no more than two non-competing sponsors per issue unless the sponsors agree. For example, we will
not publish a sponsorship message from Gloria's Handmade Soaps and Tom's Handmade Soaps in the same issue.
How often is the newsletter generated?
Spa Index News is generated at least once each month, and sometimes more often as specials and time-sensitive and newsworthy
information becomes available.
My sponsorship listing is less than 50 words. Can I get a discount?
No. The absence of a few words does not equate to less work on the part of our editorial and technical staff. Instead, we
may enhance your listing with a few editorial additions.
Why do I see older sponsorships that were much longer than 60 words?
Effective January 2003, we standardized the size and content of sponsorship paragraphs. When Spa Index News first began,
we were eager to establish ourselves in the Spa Community with any and all information we could find, with no content limitations. As our newsletter flourished well
beyond our expectations, both in readership size and content, we have determined the smaller, standardized size is most efficient. We will quote a custom amount if you still
prefer a longer paragraph.
Do I need to send samples of my product?
Not ordinarily, although we really, really like it when you do. We reserve the right to ask for one if we feel it is necessary.
In addition, full-sized samples ARE required of "exclusive sponsors". See Below.
How many readers will see my sponsorship?
As of January 1, 2004, Spa Index News is delivered to more than 30,000 opt-in email subscribers, with more subscribers signing
up daily, and a less than one-percent unsubscribe rate. We have excellent retention of our readership, and our pass-along rate is quite high -- the majority of our new
subscribers come from links contained within a prior issue which has been forwarded by another subscriber. In addition, the newsletter is published one click away from our
home page. With several million hits to our home page each year, the archived newsletter page receives very substantial traffic.
How long is the newsletter published on the website?
Indefinitely. The most recent newsletter is always linked at the top of the page, with each prior issue linked below it. With
brief introductions and keywords being shown, we make it easy for our readers to browse older issues and see our sponsors, long after the sponsorship has ended.
Can I be an exclusive sponsor of a particular product or service?
Exclusive sponsorships are available for a minimum of twelve issues, or one year, at a reduced cost of $1,500.00. No
competing-product or competing-service sponsors will be shown for the twelve-issue run; however, we may elect to share non-competing sponsorships from time to time. Due to
the exclusivity of this type of sponsorship, we require that a product be used by our staff for at least thirty (30) days in order to assure ourselves that we are offering our
readerships information regarding only the highest quality products.
Can I be an exclusive sponsor of the newsletter, with NO other sponsors?
No, not at this time. We are eager to share as many spa related services and products with our community as possible.
