IN THE PINK: Spa News to keep you glowing!
Are you "in the pink?" The origin of this familiar phrase, which has come to mean "in good health" comes from the English
foxhunting tradition. The scarlet jackets worn by the huntsmen are called "pinks". If you are in the pink you are ready

Carneros Inn and Spa 
In the midst of California's Napa Valley's beautiful Carneros winegrowing
region is a luxurious resort get- away, the Carneros Inn. Spa guests enjoy a 5,000 square foot spa on the property's highest elevation.
Treatments are performed in private cottages nestled within organic herb and flower gardens, and guests may soak in a reflecting hot infinity pool
pouring towards a spectacular Napa Valley vineyard vista. The spa treatments are inspired by and based on the area's farmlands, creeks, and
vineyards, and include the ingredients inherent in those surroundings. The unique menu of services is broken into Harvests (gorgeous
herbs, fruits and flowers for healing), Farms (natural benefits of goat butter, hydrating milk, and more), Cellars (secrets of the
grape), Minerals, and Creeks (the essential element of life).
Included among these offerings is the Bulgarian Rose and Grape Seed Facial. Carneros orders its rose oil directly from Bulgaria,
where a few ounces contain hundreds of pounds of rose petals. This special ingredient moisturizes, eases inflammation, and helps heal

Ronna Lane Aesthetics in Bothell, Washington
offers the Desert Rose package. Your feet are bathed in aromatic geranium rose oil and rose petals, a gentle brushing precedes the
luscious all-over body mask. Desert Clay replenishes and refines the skin. A refreshing rosewater toner is followed by a soothing 25 minute

Spa Julianna
in Plymouth, Michigan offers the Roses of Roma hydrotheraphy bath. The ancient Romans gave the name Caracala to the colossal bathing
structure where they came to cleanse both body and mind. On special occasions, crushed flower petals were strewn across the waters imparting a
delicate color and aroma. At Spa Julianna, experience this ancient bathing ritual reborn with state-of-the-art hydrotherapy as floral crystals
are blended with pure freeze-dried seawater and dissolved in your bath. It's truly a bath fit for a goddess. $65.
Inn on the Cove & Spa in New Brunswick, Canada presents each guest with a single rose at the end of
a spa service and tell them "We hope you feel as beautiful as this rose when you leave our spa." Guests come to look forward to the rose

A California Food & Wine Recipe 
This is a delicious, simple, and refreshing summer salsa recipe. Try it with
vegetables, fruits, and crisp wafer crackers. It's also paired well with a fat free cream cheese, for a richer taste. Lovely over fish, chicken, and
skewered shrimp.
- 8 oz bag of frozen cranberries
- 4 green onions / scallions
- 2 jalapeno peppers
- 1/3 cup sugar or Splenda
- 1/4 cup freshly torn mint leaves
- Juice of two limes
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger root
- Chopped cilantro to taste, optional
Combine all ingredients in salsa maker or small food processor. Chill 2 hours.
