LiFizz Effervescent Vitamins were developed
for those who have difficulty swallowing or digesting typical capsule or caplet
form vitamins. LiFizz carries an entire line
of vitamins formed into large discs (think of it as a tasty version of Alka
Seltzer®) which dissolve instantly in water. The advantages of LiFizz
are numerous -- no upset stomach, no bitter aftertaste, and sugar free natural
fruit flavors. The Physician's Desk Reference indicates that only 15% of the
nutritional benefits of pill-form vitamins are absorbed into the system, while LiFizz
Effervescent form tablets will give you an 85% absorption rate. You can choose
from eight different fruit flavors of differing tablets, including
Multi-Vitamin, Multi-Vitamin+Calcium, C-Vitamin, Calcium+VitaminD, and
Echinacea+C+Zinc. The official vitamin of the PGA Tour and Senior PGA Tour, LiFizz
is available online at www.lifizz.com.

SPA CUISINE
With the warm spring and summer months approaching and patio dining beckoning to
us, by reader request, here is The Golden Door's often-requested recipe for a
healthier version of Guacamole.
GOLDEN DOOR SPA GUACAMOLE
www.TheGoldenDoor.Com
2-1/2 ounces fresh or frozen peas
1/2 ounce onions (2 tablespoons), diced into small pieces
1 small tomato, diced into small pieces
1 to 2 teaspoons fresh cilantro (coarsely chopped)
3-1/4 ounces avocados (1 small avocado), stone and skin removed
1/2 cup nonfat yogurt
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice, or lemon
1 tablespoon water
1 to 3 drops chili sauce, to taste
Place fresh or frozen peas in boiling water and blanch just long enough to bring
out bright green color. Drain and set aside to cool. In medium bowl, combine
onion, tomato, and cilantro. Set aside. In blender, pulse avocado pulp, blanched
peas, nonfat yogurt, lime juice, and water. Add chili sauce to taste. Fold
avocado mixture into onion / tomato / cilantro mixture. Chill. Serve with baked
tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

SPA AT HOME
In this issue the focus is on our feet. Spring and Summer is coming, and that
means sandal weather. Some of us will visit our favorite spa facilities and
indulge in a professional pedicure, while others of us can take advantage of a
wonderful at-home pampering, made easier with a wonderful line of products from
an online shop called Lost Arts Found. The
name alone is appealing, and the products made by its proprietor, Michelle
Harrington of Rock Springs, Wyoming, are even more appealing.
Lost Arts Found offers wonderful handcrafted
herbal bath and body products ranging from herbal soaps, salves and bath teas,
and whimsical packages like the "Miz Scarlet's Birthin' Kit", and the
featured kit for this issue, the Full Indulgence Foot
Fetish Pamper Kit. This nicely-boxed and ready for gift-giving kit
has everything you need to prepare your feet for your new pair of strappy shoes.
In this kit, you'll enjoy a 3.5 oz jar of Foot Fetish Salt Soak, which
contains finely grained sea salt, Calendula blossoms, Sage Leaf, and Peppermint
and Tea Tree Essential Oils, and a handmade "tea bag" (unlike some
salt products which skimp on the herbal ingredients and heavy up on the salt,
Lost Arts Found has a product plump full of the good stuff); a 2 fluid oz jar of
Foot Fetish Cooling Oil Rub for Hot Feet, which contains Calendula
and Sage infused Sweet Almond Oil, Aloe Vera Oil, Peppermint and Tea Tree
Essential Oils, and Vitamin E; a fresh pumice stone for rough heels; a wooden
rolling massager for tired feet; and an item which intrigued me, but now has
me sold .. a pair of all-natural Loofah Slippers. A soft terry upper
covers a loofah sole. After soaking in your herbal salt mixture and rubbing your
dry heels with Cooling Oil, slip these on and walk around a bit. You'll have
wonderfully massaged, smooth, and exfoliated feet which just beg for a new pair
of shoes.
Order this product from Michelle at Lost Arts Found,
www.fascination.com/pub/laf, a
Women Entrepreneur Link site.
DID YOU KNOW ...
..that the best time to bathe is when the stomach is empty.
..that salt added to bath water will help alleviate some of the light-headedness
some people experience when soaking in hot water.
..that baths deprive you of body fluids. Drink plenty of water or soothing tea
during or after your bath.
