Wigwam Resort and Spa – Phoenix

Listed in ARIZONA

HIGHLIGHTS, TIPS and NOTES:
Originally built by the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in the early 1900s to house its executives, and later expanded into a vacation retreat for their families.

For hundreds of years, people have traveled to the Sonoran Desert in Arizona for the health, relaxation and pleasure that our arid, sunny climate grants to both body and soul. The Wigwam Resort embraces all of these objectives with an extensive spa and wellness program that marries the 5,000 year old tradition of Ayurvedic Wellness, with state-of-the-art equipment and practices.

The legendary Wigwam Resort & Spa just outside of Phoenix is home to a magnificent 26,000 square foot spa sanctuary — the LemMonds Aveda Salon and Spa.    The treatment is extensive, caring for hair, skin, the body, mind, and heart.   The amenities are equally extensive: 15 treatment rooms; 3 couples suites with plush lounge chairs, Jacuzzi™ jet tubs, private showers,  and a private balcony; co-ed lap pool with surrounding courtyard, a sauna and steam room; 4 hair stations; 4 manicure station; 5 five pedicure stations; spa relaxation rooms; separate locker rooms for men and women; and a boutique with the best spa products, salon supplies and gifts.

The Wigwam Resort is a 440 landscaped haven, with luxury Western casitas, suites, guest rooms, private patios, swimming pools (including a separate kid-friendly pool with waterslides), landscaped gardens, 54 holes golf course, tennis courts, bocce ball courts, sand volleyball courts, and a fitness center.  The team will shuttle guests to and from nearby Outlet Shopping, plus loan you bicycles and even yard games!  Fine and casual dining is served at the pool bar and grill, the resort’s bar and grill, and Litchfield’s, one of the most popular restaurants in Phoenix.

Month / Year of Your Visit?: June 2021

Just stopped by to visit a friend that won a weekend getaway via a radio game.

The room was very nice. It was fairly easy to get a parking spot even though the resort was obviously busy. The weekend stay runs upward of $315 per night for AZ residents (a current special being run to draw in the locals), I am pretty sure that is for single occupancy. I think it would seem to get fairly pricey very quickly. The packages available online included among others a spa package including hand and body lotion, massage as well as another one or two amenities.

The property seems to be well occupied with staff buzzing around on golf carts assisting guests, attending to maintenance and what not.

The suites or little condos really are very nice and simple yet very cozy with all the amenities you could want or ask for to make your trip as pleasant as possible. Lots of plug ins available, TV room with couch and foot stools, coffee table. End tables a remote for each TV, a small bar/ breakfast bar with 3 or 4 bar stools. Fridge and sink can't remember if there was a microwave or stove or cooking surface but seems like they're should have been. The front entrance had a small table and two chairs facing the golf course. I would stay here with my family. This is perfect for out of town family needing a place to stay for when they want to visit but needing their own space...they are no doubt very clean and private rooms with possible adjoining rooms available as well.

The price would be the only reason that I would look elsewhere first. We didn't arrive early enough to see the pools or much of anything other than the room but it was nice.

Happy Birthday To Me!
Month / Year of Your Visit?: May 2021

I loved everything about my experience at the Wigwam! I went for my birthday and was treated wonderfully by all staff! Also the amenities offered are amazing! The spa, pools, food and drinks were amazing! I would recommend for anyone to stay there and I’ve bragged about the place since I stayed there and left. I picked the best place possible to celebrate my birthday and WILL be back! I have 0 complaints about my experience-none!

Month / Year of Your Visit?: Spring 2021

Ever go to a movie that you were told was going to be a good movie, but it turns out to be better -- even fantastic? Take that experience and multiply it by ten and then experience it at a resort destination instead of a film. Friendliest staff I have ever worked with. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like the most important person in the world and that this resort was personally designed for you. If you love golf, the "if you can hit the ball straight" fairways will have you ball run an extra 20-30 yards off the tee. I need that. The greens are super soft though and hold the floppy shots well without requiring tons of extra spin....loved em! The kids had a blast at the pool, waterslides! Wife had a great time at the spa, facial and massage treatments! I don't know which one came back to the room happier. There is lots of grass all around the resort to keep it nice and cool.... beautiful too. We came during spring training and we will be coming back next year for a longer stay thanks to the staff and classic Arizona hospitality offered by everyone at The Wigwam.
