Silky Oaks Lodge

Silky Oaks Lodge and Healing Waters Spa – Daintree

Silky Oaks Lodge and Healing Waters Spa is located in a stunning riverside location adjoining one of the oldest living rainforests — Daintree National Park — a World Heritage listed site.  The Silky Oaks Lodge is an ideal base from which to explore Far North Queensland.

The Lodge

Our guests enjoy a variety of accommodations ranging from our studio and garden treehouses to our riverhouse and lodge suites.   Our Deluxe Treehouses are high set above the trees, elegantly styled in a beautiful private setting in the rainforest.   Enjoy a spacious en-suite marble bathroom, walk-in rain shower, and a  double spa bath.    Take in the sounds and sites of the forest from your balcony with double hammock.   Stay closer to the ground with our Lodge Suites.  Enjoy extra large balconies overlooking the rainforest, settle in to king size four poster day beds and outside sitting area.

The Treehouse Restaurant is one of Northern Queensland’s premier dining experiences.  This open-sided restaurant offers locally sourced fruits, produce, and seafood, and fine Australian wines.  Take in sensational Daintree rainforest and Mossman river views.   The Treehouse  Bar invites you to enjoy a cold beer or cocktail and swap travel tales with fellow guests.    Afternoon Tea is served daily in the Jungle Perch and Kubirri Rooms, which overlook the Mossman River with spectacular views of the Daintree Rainforest.

The Spa

Healing Waters Spa is inspired by the ancient and sacred river and rainforest which surrounds it.  Naturally, the Spa reflects the mood and culture of this very special environment. The Spa’s signature treatments are inspired by  indigenous cultures and the healing power of Australia’s native botanicals.  The variety of treatments use all Australian spa care products from Sodashi, a premium face and body care range focusing on wholeness, purity and radiance to relax and restore.

Guides and planners are available to guests wanting to experience the natural surroundings of Daintree.  Complimentary activities for all guests include guided naturewalks through the grounds and adjoining rainforest, canoeing on the Mossman River,  swimming and snorkelling in the Mossman River,  relaxing by and swimming in the resort pool,  bicycle riding, tennis (day and night) courts, and yoga classes.  More adventurous guests make take part in a variety of add-on activities such as kayaking, tandem skydiving, horse riding along the beach, hang gliding or early morning hot air ballooning.

Green Travel Initiatives

At Silky Oaks Lodge it has always been our ethos to embrace the environment and the lodge is highly sympathetic to its natural surroundings.  The Lodge was originally built on a portion of a farmed and cleared 34 hectare parcel of land adjoining the Daintree National Park. For the past 25 years this land has been regenerated and replanted back to the original rainforest habitat.  Our “Eco-Certified Advanced Ecotourism” status has a solid sustainability foundation due to this reforestation of the land the Lodge occupies.

The Lodge  has also adopted numerous sustainable resource policies throughout operation of the lodge and its spa, including recycling and waste reduction, energy and water conservation, locally sourced produce, locally produced spa products,  organic amenities, electric vehicles, and more.
