The resort shares its location with an illustrious part of Galveston history. Fort Crockett, founded in 1897, with its eight foot thick walls, forms the foundation upon which The San Luis Resort, Spa & Conference Center is built.

The San Luis Resort Spa & Conference Center is Galveston Island’s famed 30-acre seaside resort spa complex, featuring world-class amenities and exciting activities perfect for business and leisure travelers alike. With picturesque views of the Gulf of Mexico, luxurious accommodations and personalized service, The San Luis Resort offers the ultimate in relaxation and comfort.

This Texas resort spa features a full service spa, salon and fitness Center. Spa San Luis is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm, and has a menu of Asian and European massages and facials, body gommages, wraps and hydrotherapy baths, and much more. For day guests visiting the spa, Valet parking is complimentary.

Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, the resort’s pool area includes a Jacuzzi spa, swim-up bar and broad sunning areas as well as a 50-ton, 12-foot-high rock waterfall over a heated grotto. Adults and kids gleefully glide down the 40-foot custom waterslide through lush tropical plants into a separate heated pool. Lounge chairs await guests at the beach, which is just a five-minute walk from the resort’s front door.

For the family, enjoy supervised activities for children ages 4 to 12 at the Treasure Island Kid’s Club; designer fashions at the trend-setting Style Boutique; convenient beach access and Galveston sites and shopping; nine on-site restaurants from fine cuisine at The Steakhouse to casual dining at The Cafe, IHOP, Landry’s Seafood House, Rainforest Cafe and others; the H2o Pool + Bar ultra lounge; the Bar at The San Luis Hotel; the Lobby Bar at the Hilton Galveston Island; B.Jigger’s Lounge at the Holiday Inn Resort on the Beach.

For meetings and events, including weddings, the San Luis Hotel has a 40,000-square-foot, fully accredited IACC Conference Center and the Galveston Island Convention Center featuring 140,000 square feet of state-of-the-art event space.

Weddings are hosted in the Grand Ballroom. The San Luis Hotel accommodates 500 guests along with many other reception venues on-site.

With amenities ranging from a river adventure ride to a 4,000-square foot glass-enclosed promenade complete with baby grand piano, this 22-acre resort complex has it all.  Swim in the ocean or arrange complimentary transportation to one of two nearby golf courses. After a day in the sun, visit The Steakhouse for fine dining with a distinctive Texas accent, or try The Cafe, Landry’s at the San Luis, or the on-site International House of Pancakes for a more casual atmosphere and menu.

Finally, for guests arriving by private plane, the San Luis will arrange for complimentary pickup from nearby Scholes Field (KGLS) when you make your reservation.

Spa Massage Kudos
Month / Year of Your Visit?: 2021

-Staff helpful and friendly.
-Very nice rooms but no daily maid service a bit disappointed when you stay more than 2 days.
-The view of the pool and cabana area below and the gulf at night is breathtaking.
-Room service was excellent. I had grilled ham and cheese and some fries one night after bistro and other restaurants closed. Prepared by the hotel staff, just may have been the best ham and cheese I've ever had restaurant prepared.
-Also enjoyed a great steak dinner in my room sitting on balcony, which is nicely designed and fairly private.
-On another visit with a friend we sampled the spa various menu offerings. I had just the massage and the experience and therapist was the best by far I've had! They got ahold of my friend and showered her with the best experience she's had at a spa in her life.
-I applaud the staff for recognizing that she was new to this kind of splurge and they had a lot of fun with her as she, being the fine country girl she gave them a reward they may not soon have again -- true exuberance and gratitude for her experience that day.
-Pet Friendly. We did bring a dog that time and it was truly a great place for dog lovers too.
-I give the resort and spa high marks for *almost* everything except the price. Was good on my first visit because it was just off season a little but the second time I visited the prices were increasing to a bit much for just standard rooms.
-Still highly recommend it for couples, spa lovers, families and newlyweds.
The also ha a place for weddings!

A little TOO Pet Friendly
Month / Year of Your Visit?: January 2021

Pros: I was there to celebrate my birthday with my husband had an excellent time had a wonderful massage by young lady named Shalonda. The staff was amazing and the valet was very nice.

Cons: Someone let their dog poop in the hallway by the elevators on the 16th floor and the staff left it there for a LONG time. The morning we checked out it was still there. That was the only bad part about the trip but I would definitely go to the hotel again.
