Necker Island Retreat

Necker Island – British Virgin Islands

Listed in CARIBBEAN, Virgin Islands

Opened in 1984, Necker Island is Sir Richard Branson's home and favourite hideaway and one of the most idyllic places you can visit.

Necker Island is Sir Richard Branson’s private island paradise in the British Virgin Islands. This island retreat offers barefoot luxury in one of the world’s most exclusive settings — an island you may reserve for you and 33 of your friends and family making it the ideal luxury destination wedding venue.   Fear not — the retreat is also available for single rooms booked by singles and couples on select weeks throughout the year — so called “Celebration Weeks.”

Necker is 74 acres in size with a 3-mile perimeter, with numerous trails which will take you around the coast or over the main ridge.  Follow staff on guided tours and learn about the island, or strike out on your own.   If you’ve energy left, play a game of tennis, go sailing, snorkeling, rest in hammocks, or go wind-surfing.    Yoga classes can be arranged at various locations on the island. It’s a great way to appreciate the island’s spectacular sunsets.

The retreat would be complete without spa treatments.  The Bali Leha and Bali Samudra spa treatment rooms combine fabulous spa treatments with an incredible setting. Treatments are offered with Aromatherapy Associates skincare range and include skin care, massage, and more.

The Great House also has an infinity pool with views of Necker Island and of the Caribbean Sea.  There is another infinity pool off the Main Beach, which guests can visit from either the land or the beach.  The swim-up bar with seats in the pool let you sit and enjoy a drink, and then move to the beach front hot tub — gigantic, that one is.  It seats 30!

Whether you hire out the island or visit during Celebration Weeks, your rates include a complete Virgin Islands Retreat package:   Included will be your accommodations, all meals and drinks (including all alcoholic beverages) – served in a variety of locations, return launch transfer from Virgin Gorda or Beef Island airports, a dedicated team of over 100 staff, use of two freshwater infinity pools and a huge hot tub on the beach – plus there is a small hot tub at the top of the Great House, use of two floodlit tennis courts, water sports equipment so you can go windsurfing, kite-surfing, water-skiing, sailing, snorkelling and even SCUBA diving plus much more, fun at a disco DJ included on one night, Wireless internet throughout the island, and the 10% BVI accommodation tax.
