Lake Austin Spa Resort is nestled on 19 lakefront acres in Central Texas’ legendary Hill Country and located just 30 minutes from downtown Austin.

Lake Austin Spa Resort is a luxury destination spa that gives its guests the opportunity to create their own spa experience in a casual, nurturing environment surrounded and inspired by nature. Guests enjoy gracious accommodations, deliciously healthy cuisine, world-class spa services in the Lakehouse Spa, unlimited fitness classes, activities and discovery programs, all in a haven of peace and tranquility.

Spa dining is available in the dining rooms located in the main building and the Aster Café at the Lakehouse Spa. The spa cuisine is inspired by Southwestern, Mexican, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Asian influences and prepared with fresh vegetables and herbs harvested from the resort’s own organic gardens.

Lakehouse Spa

The Lakehouse Spa is a 25,000-square-foot retreat with gracious interiors and fine art, antiques and textiles. The twenty indoor treatment spaces each have a private shower; the outdoor pool and treatment cabanas take the spa outdoors to the two acres of terraced foliage and aquatic gardens. The Lakehouse Spa features a menu of more than 100 body treatments and therapies to ensure the ultimate spa experience, many using herbs and other flora grown in the spa’s Healing Gardens. The resort was one of the first destination spas to grow its own herbs for its spa treatments.

Lake Austin Spa Resort also offers a comprehensive menu of resort fitness activities daily, and “Discovery Programs.” The newly renovated training center features state-of-the-art cardiovascular, circuit and free weight training equipment complete with Broadcast Vision television overlooking beautiful Lake Austin. A variety of beginner to strenuous high-impact activity levels are available including Yoga, Pilates & Meditation, Tai Chi & Nia, Aquatics classes, Canoeing and kayaking, Spinning & Hydro-biking™. Extensive programs taught by fitness and guest instructors include body image, relationships, healthful cooking and gardening, sexuality, and more.

Came with a group for my 30th birthday for the day spa. Everything was great. My only complaint was that the paperwork we got at the beginning of the day had a different lunch than the kitchen had available, so our food wasn’t ready.  Fortunately the kitchen staff really knocked it out of the park and accommodated us. I would also recommend that staff be better briefed on what amenities, food, services or activities are available to day guests versus hotel guests. I was told by one person we were allowed to use certain things, but then 1 hour later was told we weren’t because we were day spa guests. I was pumped to kayak and then was bummed when I couldn’t. Overall, our experience was great!

If you need some quality R & R with a friend or your spouse, this is the place to do it. You can workout, do yoga, spoil yourself at the spa, go on fantastic hikes with Paula & Laura’s team, kayak and many other water activities or just sit on the dock and have an afternoon "docktail."  This is just the beginning plus the food is spectacular. I would go back tomorrow!!!

If you want to totally transform yourself into the most wonderful feeling human you can – go to Lake Austin Spa. I have been 3 times and stay for 4 to 7 days each time. It is a must to stay for several days to get the full experience and to let go of all of your stress that has built up for months. The food is EXCELLENT and the chef has cooking classes to teach you how to do it yourself. The exercise classes are wonderful and tailored to your level of ability and they are small. You get a lot of attention. There are water sports on the lake or a boat ride to enjoy PLUS the wonderful body treatment area. I get a different one every night and really indulge. By the time I leave – I am a new woman, in mind, body and spirit! — Mari M. 2010
