Top-notch experience. Kind, friendly, and knowledgeable staff. Premier location in Historic Edgartown. Staying here will make you want to move to the Vineyard.
Perfect stay from beginning to end!
I will say that the hotel is in a prime downtown location in Edgartown, has well appointed rooms, and late night chocolate chip cookies are a nice touch.
But, there is a big difference between saying you have a "pet friendly" inn and saying "pets are barely tolerated." The former is not true. This is not a pet-friendly inn.
Our stay was really made unpleasant due to the dismissive treatment of by the inn keeper about our pet, in our room (it rained the entire weekend so taking our small dog out on every outing wasn't possible). Inn keeper claimed she was being "proactive" by not letting us leave the dog in the room because of potential barking, for instance, if we both left our room, even for meals. We ended up being hostages since we could both never be gone at the same time if our pet was in the room. We never came down for breakfast a single time during our stay.

We would rather they have just said "not very pet friendly" so we could have chosen elsewhere. Don't travel and stay here if you bring a pet.
