Hacienda de los Santos Resort & Spa is a collection of 18th century mansions and a 17th century Sugar Mill. An extensive restoration and renovation took the owner’s nearly 25 years to complete with more than one million man hours of hand labor with the same techniques as two hundred years ago. A portion of the resort is on the original 19th century Mint for northern Mexico.
The Setting
The Hacienda is in the lower Sierra Madre in the village of Alamos, a National Monument and Pueblo Magico. While deeply respecting its Colonial Architectural history, the hotel still offers modern conveniences blended with antiquities and authentic art, for a sumptuous and fascinating decor. All suites and guest rooms have at least one fireplace, air conditioning and heat for all-season comfort.

Dining
The 19th century Zapata’s Cantina is a major attraction and nightly live guitar music, in the adjacent ‘Santiago’s Restaurant, for your dining enjoyment. No pre-prepared food is served in the Hacienda’s restaurants. The freshly prepared cuisine features Sonora Mexican and a variety of International dishes.

The owners have been given a humanitarian award by the Governors of both Sonora and Arizona for their accomplishments in the village of Alamos. The resort has received a AAA Four Diamond rating for 15 consecutive years. Due to the Hacienda’s historic significance it is also a member of Historic Hotels Worldwide.

Without a doubt Hacienda De Los Santos Resort and Spa is a spectacular destination. This family-owned property exudes the passion, dedication, attention to detail contributed throughout.
My 3-star recommendation reflects the lack of WiFi. Upon booking the reservation, I informed the staff of my need to work remotely and necessity of operable data connectivity. Unfortunately, there was no WiFi/data connectivity during my stay which negatively impacted me. Additionally, the restaurant meals did not meet the 5-star quality we had expected. Although the presentation was lovely, the quality versus the inflationary prices didn't meet our expectations.
Very beautiful, and entering the Spa is the best
The beauty of this place is unmatched. Can't wait to return!
