The Westin La Paloma Resort is an amazing place to stay for a staycation or out of towners. We arrived Friday night and were greeted by the folks out front. Once we checked in we went back outside to get our bags. We met Paul, one of the porters. He was very nice and offered to take us to our room. On Saturday we had an appointment at the spa and once again Paul took us to where we had to go. He was very talkative and spoke about family and various things the resort had to offer. Once at the spa, we were greeted by their staff. Since this was our first massage, they explained the process and took great care of us. Both of the massage therapists were friendly and made sure we were comfortable. On Mothers Day we had brunch in the Azul lounge and it was really good. The wait staff was very friendly and made sure my wife was treated very well. The food served was fresh and really good quality. The only downside I could say was that we found quite a few mosquitoes in our room and did get bit a few times. The bartenders and the drinks were amazing and so was our stay. I would definitely come back and recommended others do the same.

First visit and I was not impressed. Our room smelled musty and we had no comforters on the bed -- we really weren't sure the rom was even cleaned. We called front desk about it, they came and dropped off comforters (but didn't even put them on -- we had to do that!). We asked if they had any disinfectant spray or wipes we could at least use and were told he'd check - but he never came back or called our room or anything. The mineral pool was not heated and was freezing, the Jacuzzi water was dirty -- cloudy with tons of leaves and debris floating around. Azul restaurant food was good, but the service was so-so. Contigo restaurant food was very good with nice bartender who made amazing jalapeno margaritas. We arrived early at Contigo and informed the hostess we were sitting at bar while waiting for our table.  WELL -- they took that as we no longer wanted our table reservation -- why I'm not sure -- so they never called us to our table.  We had to go back to check on our table, and then one of the managers actually gave US attitude at THEIR mess-up.  The only pluses were the food and cocktails, the golf cart drivers who were friendly and we at least had a room with a view of the Catalinas. Had fun with my friends so good weekend overall, but I won't everstay here again.

"First and foremost, we are very sorry to hear you did not enjoy your overall stay. We sincerely regret missing your expectations as our guest as well as your first impression of our resort experience. Thank you for sharing your feedback, so we may address your disappointment. We appreciate your positive mention of our associates and guestroom views. It is our hope to have an opportunity to welcome you and your friends for a more impressive stay in the future. -- Wigman Resort Management

The view from my room was great. I’ve traveled many places but I think this has got to be my favorite resort spas. The service was more than great. Hoping to go back sometime in the future .
