I was one of 3 Secret Spa Reviewers for the Best of Washington DC Assignment.
I had the best manicure and pedicure of the year at this Red Door Spa. So much so, I’ll be jumping ship from my regular salon.
The price wasn’t significantly more than what I’ve been paying at my Chevy Chase salon salon, but oh, the difference! Soft, comfortable furniture, no annoying chatter or overly loud music. A warm bowl of bubbling water with marbles to massage the soles of my feet. My feet and calves were massaged to perfection with none of what I call ‘Anger Boredom Strokes’ (where the technician alternates between rubbing so hard you think she’s angry or so absent-minded you know she’s bored), my cuticles were carefully trimmed AND examined and touched up after the first run-through. My nails were polished, and then my legs were layered warm towels for a rest period.
I can’t say I’ve never had a BAD pedicure experience, but this one definitely set the bar.
