Relaxing? I Think Not!

So... first time here in Torrance location. Lots of groups of LOUD, CHATTY, DISRESPECTFUL women, who seemed to enjoy the attention. Many of us that were there and who were courteous seemed visibly annoyed. Website said 'No Electronics' - Really? Most of the Loud women were taking selfies... in the Spa Area, where many of us were trying to chill without the worry of being photographed. The group in the jacuzzi made me feel like I was at some cheap hotel! The spray bottle in the steam room didn't work. The shower heads were too high to be of any use. The locker areas were not big enough for the number of women cramped in there. Relaxation Massage was ok. The employees seemed nice, although no rules were being enforced (which most of them told was the way things worked there). Thought I'd go back for a facial, but I don't want to repeat that experience!

I love Burke Williams. I had an amazing experience, as usual. I went for the Pure Relaxation 50 minute massage. Mason was my masseuse and she was great. She asked my preferences and tailored my service just the way I like it. The pressure was perfect. Everything was nice and clean, and the check in process was smooth easy. I will definitely be back.

The services are nice. The shared amenities are nice. The place is clean but dated (broken decor never gets fixed, it seems). The customer service is usually nice, when you seek it out. But what troubles me is that the "Please Be Quiet" signs are ignored and not enforced. In some cultures the spa is very social. I get that, I truly do. But in other cultures, it's a quiet experience, and that's supposed to be this one. "When In Rome" is the rule to follow. If you sees and most Americans are quiet, please follow suit, just as we'll follow suit in a spa in your country. But the real problem is, BW Customer Service won't enforce their etiquette. I don't want to be "a Karen" and ask a group to tone it down, so I discretely asked Customer Service to wander by and "Sssssh with a smile" a group of patrons. They said they would but didn't. I finally just absented myself and went somewhere else, but it's not fair for me to deny myself the use of Quiet Areas because BW doesn't remind people what it IS -- a QUIET AREA.
