Amangani Resort – Jackson

Listed in WYOMING

HIGHLIGHTS, TIPS and NOTES:
Jackson Hole is ideally positioned to take advantage of the region’s outdoor offerings in all four seasons. Alpine and cross-country skiing are joined by nature treks and guided tours, as well as more uncommon options: heli-skiing, dog sledding, white water rafting, fly fishing, photography tours and more.

On the site of a magnificent natural phenomenon, where nature’s needs prevail over those of humanity, Amangani Resort has laid its indigenous foundations with environmental integrity rooting itself in the soul of the dramatically unprocessed American Wild West. The resort has a prodigious aspect, in 21st Century comfort, across the raw valley of Jackson Hole where many a wild animal leaves a labyrinthine trail as it wanders up into the spectacular surrounding snow-capped Tetons, the Rockies’ youngest and most riveting range.

Amangani’s elegant suites are an expression of the surrounding countryside that inspired them: modern comforts, woven cowhide chairs and faux wolf throws are eased into a spacious environment using clean and simple lines creating an atmosphere that reflects the wonders and majestically aged-soul of its ‘wild west’ host.    Amangani offers 29 Suites, five Deluxe Suites, two Amangani Suites, the Spring Gulch Suite, the Sena Suite, the Shoshone Suite and the Grand Teton Suite. Amangani also offers rental homes.  Wireless broadband connections are available in all suites and public areas.

Spa and Fitness

Amangani’s Spa and Fitness Centre features two exercise studios, four treatment rooms and separate steam rooms for men and women. A variety of one-on-one programmes are offered in the Wellness Studio, including Body Shaping, FitBall training, yoga, Active Isolated Stretching and personal training. The Fitness Centre is equipped with two ellipticals, one recumbent bike and two treadmills. Free weights and an exercise station are also available. Both exercise studios are finished in redwood and offer views over the swimming pool and the valley to the Snake River Range beyond.

The Spa’s treatment menu includes a range of massages, facials and healing therapies. In the wet room, mud, salt and seaweed body treatments are available. Haircuts and deep conditioning treatments, along with manicures and pedicures, are offered in the Beauty Salon.   Both the men’s and women’s steam rooms feature slate floors and walls. Treatments can be enjoyed within the steam rooms.  Massages and other treatments as well as fitness sessions can be enjoyed by the swimming pool or in the privacy of guest suites.

Amangani’s 35-metre (115-foot), heated, outdoor swimming pool is finished in frost-coloured quartzite tiles and is linked to a 10.5-square metre (113- square foot) whirlpool. Both enjoy magnificent mountain views, especially at sunset. With a winter water temperature of about 27°C (80°F), the swimming pool can be enjoyed year-round.

Dining

The Grill is a 65-seat dining room open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The redwood-panelled walls and ceiling, specially-commissioned artwork, a wood-burning fireplace and magnificent views of the mountains lend a mood of stylish comfort. The Grill specializes in local, sustainable ranch meats, fresh fish and seasonal farm to table produce.

From Amangani’s entrance, 20 steps sweep dramatically down to the Lounge which features a soaring redwood ceiling, a two-story window wall, two wood-burning fireplaces and comfortable seating. This is the ideal venue for casual afternoon and evening dining.

My girlfriend took me here to celebrate my birthday. We loved our stay at here.  The check in experience was unlike any other hotel we’ve been to. There was no lines or anything, it felt very personal. The hotel sits at a gorgeous location facing the Grand Tetons and the views from all around are amazing. This is the only place in USA were we have seen a proper infinity pool with breathtaking views from it of the mountains. There also was a open hot water pool which makes it a great place to take in the views at night. They even serve food and alcohol in the pool if you want, so we enjoyed some drinks in the pool facing the sunset. The restaurant had a big variety of food available and everything else was also available on request -- we could get food served anywhere on the property. My girlfriend also arranged for a private dinner for us which they setup outside on a lovely evening. We also enjoyed couples massages and both therapists were amazing, very prompt and professional. Service was just amazing. The day we wanted to go to Yellowstone, they cleaned our car, put water bottles inside and had it parked outside the hotel gate for us in the morning, we wanted to eat Indian food so they had someone from the hotel go to Jackson to pickup Indian food for us. I have never seen service like this before. Such a unique experience, totally worth the money if you want to pamper yourself or a loved one.

We had an excellent stay at Amangani for our honeymoon. The hotel is fantastic, the view is breathtaking, and the staff is amazing, attentive, and courteous. They dotted every "i" and crossed every "t." Special call outs to Jarod, Stephen, Marcela, and Taylor! Housekeeping and turndown were impeccable. They even ask for your dinner plans at check-in, so housekeeping can do their thing when you are out, and you are not disturbed. Speaking of dinner, the food at the Amangani grill is second to none, and it was the best meal we had during our entire stay. Quite frankly, just the view is worth the price, but getting all that other pampering and service is certainly welcome. We will certainly stay here again!
