Lotus
Day Spa, Wentworth, GA
My experience at Lotus Day Spa was awesome. It was very clean and
comfy, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I went
for my first massage with this spa, after trying to find a place
that was not too expensive all over the area. Their price range is
not high at all. I had a 60 min Relaxation massage with Carla. She
was very good and pretty much covered all parts of my body from
head/face down to my feet! The only problem, if I had to give one
would be that the walls are too thin. I could hear a conversation
in the hallway, which was distracting. Other than that, I have
nothing bad to say about the place! I was pleased to find out that
they had a 10% discount on all services for the month of March
which brought the cost for my 60 min massage down to $58.50! Can't
beat that! I might come back again before the end of the month!

Spa
Sydell, Marrietta, GA
I had never been to Spa Sydell prior to this experience and I
won't return. How in the world can they (3 people specifically but
Spa Sydell in general) be in the business of relaxation and cause
stress instead? I was given a $300 gift certificate for my
birthday. I'd hoped to book a blissful day of treatments. When I
called the appointment phone number, I was routed to the
Cumberland location. Lucille answered the phone and I proceeded to
tell her which treatments I wanted in order to set my
appointments. I frequent different spas, so I am familiar with the
"basic" services, expectations and protocol of a spa--both day and
vacation spas. However, to summarize the telephone conversation, I
was told that if I didn't know what I wanted I should call back
once I figured it out or call the customer service line because
she didn't have the time to help me. When I attempted to reiterate
that I only needed to set the appointment for the treatments, she
told me that she had to take care of the customers in front of
her. I asked her for her name and she responded "I think that's
irrelevant!" and hung up. I spoke with the Assistant Director of
the Cumberland location--Jen--and the Customer Service Operations
Manager--Susan, neither of whom offered a solution aside from
physically coming to the store for a refund of the gift
certificate. However, only the purchaser of the gift certificate
can return it, and only within the time restraints of refunds.
Give me a break! Hence, the problem with trying a nationwide
franchise opposed to a private/personalized business for
RELAXATION. -- Nasirah H., February 2009

Serenity
Wellness Spa & Salon, Milledgeville, GA
After losing my father-in-law to cancer last year my mother in
law gave me the gift of a facial as a thank you for all that I had
done to help her. Something always came up and I would have to
reschedule. My facial became the family joke. Last week I decided
to just go for it. I made an appointment and got a sitter. When I
got there though they didn't have me in the books. I just stood
there and started to cry like a fool in public. The manager was so
accommodating and offered me a massage as well as keeping my
facial for another time. I had never had a massage so was hesitant
but agreed. We walked to the back through these lavishly feminine
rooms that were so inviting and clean. A lot of the surfaces were
glass and everything just sparkled. It made me feel like a
princess. The massage was terrific. I wasn't uncomfortable once.
She was professional, yet warm and kind. I'm going back this week
and telling all of my friends about it! -- Jessica N., 2008

Chateau Elan, Braselton, Georgia This year, I decided that the holiday season was absolutely NOT going to be
a stress-fest for me. So, immediately prior to Thanksgiving in November
2002, I signed up for a four-day, three-night stay at the Chateau Elan in
Georgia.
The special included in excess
of a dozen spa services over the period, accommodations, meals, taxes and
gratuities. This was my first time at a "stay" spa. What a wonderful
experience!
The staff was friendly and
unruffled by special requests, the rooms were spacious and beautiful, the
food was tasty and pleasing to the eye. I had access to the full facilities
at the spa, and participated in stretching and yoga classes, had a comprehensive
fitness evaluation, and enjoyed relaxing in the whirlpool that overlooked
the grounds, which included a pond.
I loved the waiting area
for spa services (the staff was very prompt with the appointments) which included
a "quiet room" featuring some VERY comfortable chaises, soft music, and a
view of the woods.
The facility offered shuttle
service to the adjoining inn and winery, which I used sparingly since I enjoyed
walking (I was lucky, the weather was great!) on the grounds, which include
a nice nature trail. There was also a daily complementary shuttle to
shopping areas, but I didn't want to leave the grounds myself.
All in all, I was VERY
pleased and will return whenever time and budget permits. There's
nothing better than sleeping late, eating breakfast in a comfy spa robe,
and getting pampered all day! -- Laura Y.

Reflexions of U,
Conyers, Georgia
Grade C Spa. Very unsatisfied. Not enough privacy, and
received horrible service. The people performing the services were
friendly, but didn't appear professional. My massage was rough and
my husband's reflexology was painful. No separate rooms for
massages, only separated by curtains. There was a strange smell in
the massage area. The facial room was uncomfortable- salon chair
covered with a sheet. The massage table wobbled and had stains on
the sheets. The sauna was smaller than the front driver &
passenger area of a car and it was in the middle of the hall where
all guests walking in the massage area could see you. The manager
gave me a price quote the day I scheduled the appointment and
conveniently did not remember doing so on the day services were
provided. -- Mrs. L., May 2008
