NEWS FROM THE SPA ASSOCIATION (SPAA)

The Spa Association (SPAA) is adding to its list of member benefits.  An organization that serves the needs of resorts, medical spas, club spas, day spas and everything in between, SPAA currently offers reduced rates for health, professional and property insurance, discounts on products and services and FREE educational materials like CDs, tapes and business kits. 

The Spa Association has just released its first EDUCATIONAL KIT to help members build their retail sales.  The kit consists of a training booklet on retailing, a laminated sales cue card to assist front desk staff and technicians in closing the sale and disk containing Excel tools for creating retail sales scoreboards and contests. 

SPAA is also offering a GROUP PRESS RELEASE.  This document is e-mailed monthly to over 200 editors of trade publications and consumer publications covering health, beauty, fitness, and travel and leisure.  If you are interested in participating in this free way to generate publicity for your products or services, simply submit a one-page (roughly 500 word) document in text format by the 5th of each month to press@thespaassociation.com. 

Spas may also contribute photos, sample menus and text to our upcoming spa referral service.  Linking spagoers to spas all over the world by an online service and editorial submissions, SPAA’s new service is sure to bring in a new segment of the market to member spas everywhere.  Contributions are limited to 1000 words and are subject to approval and editing.  Simply submit text, company name and phone/e-mail contact information by the 5th of the month to spas@thespaassociation.com.  Please send photos in jpeg or tif formats with a resolution of 100 d.p.i.
