“FACE LIFT” REVITALIZES THE SPA
AT OCEAN PLACE RESORT & SPA,
Long Branch, New Jersey

February 11, 2004

LONG BRANCH, NJ . . . . . The 254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa, has “massaged out a few knots and rejuvenated the spirit” of one of the north Jersey Shore’s most renowned and award-winning destination spas.

Regarded as one of the only destination resort spas between Manhattan and Atlantic City, The Spa at Ocean Place recently reopened on January 26th after undergoing an extensive renovation. The renovation included the redesign of the retail and lobby area, installation of new hardwood floors, addition of new carpeting,  furniture, and light fixtures, warm new paint colors and new lockers and carpeting in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

Adjacent to The Spa is the resort’s deluxe fitness center overlooking the Atlantic, which was also refinished and can hold up to 100 people.  The fitness center features an indoor pool – which was completely stripped and repainted with the logo, a Jacuzzi, and outdoor pool and patio.  Men’s and women’s locker rooms feature steam and sauna.

According to Director of Marketing Mike Tidwell, the renovations were made because the resort is aggressively marketing its amenities to the leisure market.  “Although the resort still caters to the group meeting market, we’re strategically positioning Ocean Place Resort & Spa as a premier destination spa resort.”

The Spa is also launching a new membership program which Tidwell said has been positively received by the local community.  A one year membership package costs $2,500 and includes a 15% discount on all spa services; 15% discount on all hotel rooms and food and beverage purchases; a complimentary brunch for four; four complimentary hotel rooms (black out dates apply); a one-hour complimentary spa treatment; complimentary use of the fitness center; four beach passes, and two, “members only” culinary events each year.

The Spa’s tranquil, seaside location combined with its personal service and multitude of luxurious spa treatments, makes The Spa at Ocean Place a perfect overnight, weekend or vacation getaway.  The Spa features more than 30 therapeutic treatments for men and women including body treatments and massages, facials, hydrotherapy and specialty hand and foot treatments.

The Spa’s new retail area features an extensive assortment of Jurlique skin care products, an array of aromatherapy and scented candles, herbal teas, soothing CDs, yoga and pilates tapes. Guests also have the opportunity to take their Ocean Place Spa experience home after a day or weekend of pampering.  The Spa’s therapists are happy to recommend skin care and body products and will tailor a basket of personalized treatments to fit specific needs.  Spa gift certificates are available and make the perfect year ‘round gift.

Other spa programs and seasonal activities include sunrise yoga on the beach, personal trainer sessions, and multiple water sports including paddleboats, sea kayaks and water bikes.  The Spa at Ocean Place is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A variety of overnight and destination spa packages are also offered.   For further information regarding spa appointments, call the resort at 732-571-4000, toll free at 800-411-6493, or visit the website at www.oceanplaceresort.com.

In addition to the 254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Tiburon Hospitality Management also manages the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa off of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, as well as the 360-room Carefree Resort & Villas in Carefree, Arizona.  Tiburon’s website is www.tiburonhospitality.com.
