| Our Location
Neither the impossible beauty of the drive beside the West Fork of the
Dolores River, the road perched above haunting beaver ponds nor the
dancing light through the aspen groves prepares you for the first sight
of Dunton Hot Springs. A Ghost Town so lovingly restored, so
honestly weathered, nestling beneath the glistening snow fields of the
San Juan peaks. Our Cabins Each of Dunton's guest
cabins is an authentic, nineteenth century, hand-hewn log building,
restored by local and Native American craftsmen who specialize in
traditional building techniques. Although no two are alike, each bears a
distinct individual character and history. All are furnished with custom
luxury amenities, and reveal splendid views that change throughout the
day with the shifting colors of sunlight on the mountains. All are less
than five minutes walk to the bar, dining area, and adjoining conference
facility of the saloon, the hot springs in the teepee and bath
house, massage and yoga rooms in the Pony Express Spa, the
bank of the West Fork of the Dolores, the waterfall, and the library.
Some cabins have direct feeds from geothermal springs. Our Cuisine Use everything we grow
ourselves, at our farm and vineyard, comb our local farmers markets, buy
meat from our neighbors, gather the mountain's bounty of wild mushrooms,
chanterelles and boletos, and then subscribe to a farm network that
gathers food from every corner of the Colorado Plateau. That's what we
do, and it tells you precisely our Chef's priorities. Finally, cook it
as carefully as possible and serve it as elegantly as you are able.
Everyone eats at one of our long, old tables but that doesn't mean that
we will not meet your dietary concerns and needs. We even pack up the
most wonderful picnics for your fishing trips, hikes, horse expeditions
or the shady mountain meadow you have picked out. Our Spa At our Pony Express
Spa, we invite you to experience the very best in holistic and
therapeutic healing techniques - from Trager Therapy to hot rocks
massage. From pedicures to mineral mud wraps. From reflexology to expert
yoga instruction. We specialize in natural cosmetic treatments and
our luxurious facilities promote the ultimate in relaxation and
rejuvenation, including Yoga Retreats and Spa Packages. | CONTACT DUNTON HOT SPRINGS

 | Ainsworth Hot Springs, British Columbia. Features a horseshoe shaped cave, where the darkness, mineral deposits and humidity combine for a most interesting hot springs experience. The main pool provides the perfect place to relax and enjoy some of West Kootenay's majestic scenery - Purcell Mountains and Kootenay Lake. A hot steamy odorless shower of mineralized water falls from the cave's roof and forms into a pool about waist deep, providing a natural steam bath. The springs originate in the Cody Caves area, which is directly above and to the west of Ainsworth Hot Springs. The water works its way down through porous rock to a depth of 1-1/2 to 2 km. The water picks up temperature at a rate of 40C per km down until it strikes what is known as the Lakeshore Fault. This fault is an impervious layer of rock lying at an angle of 45 to 50 degrees from Ainsworth Hot Springs to a point directly below the Cody Caves. Hydraulic pressure forces the water up along the fault where it emerges at Ainsworth Hot Springs - Voila - Hot Water. The hot springs are heated naturally and vary in temperature between: 42°C (114°F) Cave, 35°C (96°F) Pool, 4°C (40°F) Cold Plunge. The Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort Hotel has a room to suit your needs, no matter what they may be. With 43 rooms to choose from, we can accommodate couples or families for a comfortable night or convenient vacation.

MONTANA | | | | | NEBRASKA | | | | | NEVADA | | Steamboat Villa Hot Springs Spa 16010 S Virginia St Reno, NV 89511 (775) 853-6600 Water has been used for therapy since ancient times. We find references to the use of mineral waters for healing by the Egyptians, Arabians, Japanese, Native Americans, Greeks and the cultures of ancient India, to name but a few. Water therapy, or hydrotherapy, combined with light and massage treatment, was used in ancient Greece at healing temples from the time of Asclepius. Plato also recommended the use of water treatment for various diseases. Steamboat Springs is classed as "thermal waters" of volcanic origin which maintain excessive heat and high mineral content. The temperature of the water as it reaches the surface is between 200 and 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Numerous sulphate minerals derived from the weathering of sulphides deposited from the hot water have been noted in chemical analysis. Some of these minerals are extremely rare. One type found here has been hitherto known only in Chile in South America. Another is a borax mineral not known before in the United States. The therapeutic waters have remained the same since historic times, but the site has been completely renovated. The water is now available in clean, fresh and colorful single-use tub rooms. Whether it is to soothe the sore muscles after athletic activity, to soothe sore joints or injuries, or just to melt away the stresses of our modern world, we invite you to enjoy the Spa. The Steamboat Villa Hot Springs Spa is a non-profit organization. All membership and visit prices are suggested contribution amounts.
